Vladimir Spivakov as a guest of Prague Philharmonia
The Prague Philharmonia invites you to the Sunday concert (6 May) that will take place in Dvořák Hall of Rudolfinum. The special guest of the evening will be Maestro Spivakov, violin player and conductor in one person. He is well known to orchestras and audiences alike as one of the leading violinists of our time, equally enjoys a multifaceted career as a respected conductor. Vladimir Spivakov will performed Mozart Violin Concerto D Major as a soloist and other compositions from Mozart and Beethoven as a conductor of this special evening.
The Spectre's Bride at the Prague Castle
The performance of the Dvořák’s cantata at Prague Castle is the final project in the Prague Philharmonic’s Series of extraordinary concerts to celebrate the works of Antonín Dvořák. In addition, Slovak soprano Maria Porubčinová, young tenor Ladislav Elgr, and baritone Ivan Kusnjer will appear, under the direction of Tomáš Netopil, all of whom will, two days later, perform the same concert at the Theatre an der Wien in Austria.

Spring premieres in the Prague Philharmonia
Just at the beginning of April started in Prague Philharmonia the spring full of premieres. On 1 April 2012 was performed the composition “Requiem-never forget the day and you“ by japanese Susumu Ueda as a memory to the victims of the earthquakes and tsunami in Japan.
Festival Budapest – Prague – Vienna
As the first Czech orchestra, Prague Philharmonia was invited to the international festival organized by Kennedy Center for Performing Arts in Washington (25/2 - 29/3/2012). This type of festival is prepared nearly every year, however every year with different topic, different countries or cities. This time it is called “The music of Budapest – Prague – Vienna“.
Among the invited guests, who will present the european centers (Prague, Vienna and Budapest) and it’s culture, will perform The Vienna Philharmonic, Takács Quartet from Budapest, soloists Christof Eschenbach, Matthias Goerne, conductor Lorin Mazel and together with The Prague Philharmonia its Music Director Laureate, conductor Jiří Bělohlávek. The festival is supported by the donation of David and Alice Rubenstein and some other foundations.
Japanese tour and the memorial concert of tsunami in Japan in March 2011
The Japanese tour of the Prague Philharmonia was not only ordinary orchestral visit of this country. The orchestra performed at six Japanese cities and significant concert venues as Tokyo Suntory Hall or Kitara Concert Hall in Sapporo. Apart from the concerts, shortly after arrival, the concert masters and soloists of the Prague Philharmonia taught the Japanese students and professionals at Musical interpretation courses. The highlight of the tour was the final concert in Tokyo Suntory Hall, which was devoted to the victims of natural disaster last year that hit the East Coast of Japan in March.
Fumiaki Miura with the Prague Philharmonia in Prague and in Japan
Prague Philharmonia invites you to the Sunday concert that will take place in Dvořák Hall of Rudolfinum. The main guest of the evening will be young talented violinist Fumiaki Miura who comes from Japan. He will perform Violin Concerto in D Major by Petr Iljič Čajkovskij. Only 19 years old player have already won many prestigious prices at Japanese competitions especially the First Prize Winner of the Hannover International Violin-Competition 2009. He also won in Hannover the Music Critics’ Prize and the Audience Prize of the 2009 competition and is therefore not only the youngest Winner in the history of the Competition, but also the one with the most prizes. Now he comes to Prague and on 26th February he will play with the Prague Philharmonia under the button of great young well-known conductor and the chiefconductor Jakub Hrůša. The program of the concert will be composed of 3 composition Dances of Galanta by Zoltán Kodály, Symphony Nr. 8 in G Major by Antonín Dvořák and Čajkovskij mentioned above.

Autumn Tour with Stars
In the period of one month (11/11 to 11/12) will the Prague Philharmonia visit 16 european cities at the Autumn European Tour. They will perform in their classical composition under the concert master Jan Fišer. The repertoire consists of the compositions from baroko to the music of end of the 20th century. The main guests of the concert tour are the trumpet masters Sergej Nakariakov and Gábor Boldoczki. Together with them will play the pianist Kateryna Titova, marimba soloist Katarzyna Mycka, harpist Mirjam Schröder, flutist Kaori Fujii or trumpeter Mladen Đorđević.



Great pianist and composer Jonathan Powell
On Tuesday 8 October 2011 we can look forward to the opening concert of the Modern and Contemporary Music Series of the Prague Philharmonia which is devoted to the anniversary of the composer György S. Ligeti with the name Métamorphoses Nocturnes - Hommáge á György Ligeti. Composer and great pianist Jonathan Powell was invited as a special guest of this concert. We have moved this series to the new Concert Hall of the Prague Conservatory for this season. This hall has better acoustics, great technical equipment and enough space for the new audience, especially students, for whom was prepared the special offer.
Students with the valid ID become free ticket at the box office of the Concert Hall half an hour before the concert.

Prague Philharmonia will perform in South Korean Seoul
In a few days, Prague Philharmonia will travel to South Korean city Seoul, where they will perform under the conductor Ondřej Vrabec at two concerts in acoustically excellent Music Hall in Seoul Arts Center.
